Privacy notice

Last updated: 18 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Hotel Fuerte Calafate (Calle 605 No. 1164, El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina). For any question about your data: admfuertecalafate@gmail.com.

What data this website collects

This website has no accounts and no forms where you type your name or contact details. To ask or book you tap a button that opens WhatsApp, and the conversation happens there.

What it does record, in a private spreadsheet of the hotel, is:

  • When you tap a WhatsApp button: the date and time, the language of the page and which button you tapped. It does not store your name, your phone number or your message.
  • Our own visit measurement, to know how many people arrive and which sections they see: date and time, a random code that identifies that browser tab while it stays open (it is not a cookie and cannot be linked to your name), the type of event (visit, section viewed, WhatsApp click, language change), the page you came from, the campaign parameters of the link (utm), the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the approximate country and city that the hosting service reports from your connection. Your IP address is not stored.

What happens when you write on WhatsApp

The message goes from your device to WhatsApp (Meta), with the dates and number of people you chose in the calendar. From there, that conversation is between you and the hotel.

If the enquiry moves towards a booking, the hotel may note your name, a contact detail, the dates and the rooms in its bookings spreadsheet in order to serve you. You give that data in the chat and it is used only for your booking.

Third parties involved

The site uses these third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel: hosts the website and measures visits with Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.
  • Google Maps: the map in the "How to get here" section is an embedded Google map. Google may receive data from your browser when it loads.
  • Tripadvisor: the reviews box loads a Tripadvisor script when you scroll near that section. Tripadvisor may use its own cookies.
  • Google Sheets: where the hotel keeps the records described above.

Cookies

The website does not set its own cookies and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. For its own measurement it uses the browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. The only cookies that could appear are those of the third parties in the previous section (Google and Tripadvisor).

What it is used for

What the website records is used only to count visits and see which parts of the site are useful. Nothing else: we do not sell or hand over data, and we do not use it for advertising or to contact you.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction or deletion of any data that identifies you by writing to admfuertecalafate@gmail.com. It is free of charge.

Under Argentine Law No. 25.326 on personal data protection, the data subject may exercise the right of access free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown (article 14, paragraph 3). The Agency for Access to Public Information (Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública), as the supervisory authority of Law No. 25.326, handles complaints about non-compliance with the personal data protection rules.
